Ho Ho Home Gift Ideas

Hi guys!

Can you believe that we’re just days away from Christmas?! I know that we say it every year, but this year really did go by quickly. Holiday shopping and holiday parties are in full effect! If you’re attending an event at someone’s home you may want to grab them a little hostess/host gift even if you’re not exchanging Christmas gifts. Or maybe you have a friend that is into home decor. Whatever the reason here are some fun home decor gift ideas.

Candles are a classic go to idea for a hostess/host gift. One of my favorites is the Voluspa Prosecco Rose

It contains notes of sparkling pink prosecco and rose petals. And will add a lovely fragrance to the home without being overwhelming.

Even though it’s winter there are some (like me) that drink iced coffee year round. That’s why I’m so in love with my Cold Brew Coffee Maker
from Zulay Kitchen. I can prep the brewer when I get home from work and the next morning I have iced coffee. And because there’s no actual ice required I don’t have to worry about it getting watered down if things are hectic at work and I can’t drink it right away.

For those that love espresso try the Sweese Porcelain Fluted Espresso Mugs Not only are they beautiful espresso mugs but I also like to use them to make dessert shots. A little ice cream or pudding topped with a cookie or fruit and you’re good to go.

Speaking of kitchen items Magnolia Table: A Collection of Recipes for Gathering by Joanna Gaines is an amazing gift for anyone into cooking. It’s available in hardcover as well as a Kindle version.

Another lovely home gift idea is a cheese board. I just got the
Good Cook Bamboo Cutting Board and I love it. It’s sold as a cutting board but so far I’ve been using it to serve my charcuterie.

If you want to give something a bit more personal then consider something handmade. Chunky hand knit blankets are a popular item that can be made in a few hours. You can grab some Super chunky yarn and knit away while you binge on Netflix. There’s not tools needed besides your hands and they’re really easy to make.

The other great thing about this list is that all of the items are available on Amazon. So you don’t even have to stand in a line or deal with crowds. So toss a few of these items in your cart and relax with some cocoa.

Fabulous Thanksgiving Table Decor Inspiration

We’re a week away from Thanksgiving. Which means that everyone is thinking about food, food, and more food. I wanted to take a moment to focus on where you’ll be enjoying that delicious meal.

Buffalo Check is huge right now. Those in the know in the home decor community are finding ways to incorporate it in their fall and holiday decor. Like Michelle (IG: @houseoftransformation). She shows us that a black & white tablescape will go lovely in any type of home. Whether your style is farmhouse, glam, or somewhere in the middle.

Another favorite of decor lovers is neutrals. Jenna (IG: @fabulous_farmhouse_designs) blends neutrals with a soft pop of color so that your table isn’t overwhelming, yet gets attention. The addition of a pastel or muted color is a great way to take your place settings to the next level.

Alicia (IG: @smalltownnest) selected a unique option for her centerpiece. The beautifully arranged wooden toolbox will make your table stand out for all of the right reasons. Not only is this a great option for a dining centerpiece, but this would also be lovely to add to your living room or bedroom.

Sometimes the holidays are spent away from your family. If you’re lucky you have a circle of friends that have become your family. And that is worth celebrating. This tablescape by Ashlee (IG: @sweetsouthernoaks) celebrates your Frimaly. The Friendsgiving decor and twinkling lights make everyone feel at home and welcome.

As mentioned earlier Buffalo Check is what all the cool decor kids are doing right now. Angela (IG: @thefrugalredhead) added her own touch to that with a deep teal tone. Incorporating it in her place settings and centerpiece. The jewel tones offer a nice warm feeling to your meal.

Thanksgiving is the unofficial end of Pumpkin Season. Amber (IG: @trendifarmgirl) gives pumpkins a beautiful send off. Using various tones gives you a palette that is a gorgeous ode to fall. It also prevents your tablescape from being to monotone. With an outside setting such as this one the pumpkins also help to keep things grounded if your Thanksgiving is a windy one.

Astra (IG: @redbrickfauxfarmhouse) also gave her table the unique spin of using a wood toolbox. She altered hers slightly by using vintage glass bottles for her florals. The pop of coral tones work beautifully with the splashes of coral along her table runner. Brightening up your dining experience.

Family, thankfulness, and food are what we usually focus on when it comes to Thanksgiving. A lovely backdrop for all of that can start with your dining room table.

Deco Inspo

It used to be that I turned to Pinterest for my inspiration. Now I turn to Instagram. Anything that you need a suggestion for you can find there.

I have to confess that I spend a lot of time on IG. A lot. So I see tons of accounts. Thankfully I have some go to accounts that I can always rely on. This week I came up with a list of IG accounts that I currently turn to for inspiration, and that I think you’ll enjoy as well.

I love the soothing tone of Lynsey’s account. She’s an interior designer and a look at her IG will definitely inspire you to take an even closer look at her website https://www.vintagesouldesigns.com/

When asked why she enjoys home decor Lynsey replied “It is an expression of who we are. It helps us to create a space that is true to us and that makes us feel good”.

Caiti also has an account that I love to turn to when I need inspo for finishing touches. Looking at her account you get a warm at-home feeling. She has stated that she’s “Passionate about helping people feel inspired to make their house a home”. And she definitely succeeds at that.

Georgia peach April is all about the details and that’s one of the reasons that I love visiting her profile. One of the things that April and I have in common is that we both love supporting small businesses. April loves home decor because it allows her to be creative and release stress.

Whenever I visit Angelica’s profile I feel like I’m looking at photos from a friend. A peek at her page and I want to sit on the couch with her & catch a movie. And when it comes to home decor accounts that’s one of the best feelings that you can get. She enjoys that home decor gives her freedom to express herself. And she has a great way of doing just that.

I love that Vanessa’s account is a mixture of home decor and her family. It gives you a sense of how certain elements work in everyday life. Vanessa hopes that she has created and continues to create a cozy, warm, and inviting space where her friends and family feel comfortable and welcome.

There are many beautiful accounts in the decor family on Instagram. If you view the hashtags on the accounts listed above you’re bound to find inspiration. Be careful though. You might be tempted to redecorate or remodel after viewing these gorgeous profiles.

Yours, Mines, & Ours

Trying to agree on a place to have dinner can be hard, but have you ever tried to agree on throw pillows for your couch? Or find a headboard that you both like? Trying to find decor ideas for your home can be hard when you and your significant other have different likes and ideas. Here’s a few tips to help you come up with some solutions.

Mood Boards
Create mood boards that set the tone of what you’re each looking for. When you place the boards side by side you might be able to find some ideas that can bring certain points together.

Prioritize & Compromise
Do you really need silver walls with glitter? Does he really need that chair that looks like it belongs in a dump? Make a list to categorize how important certain aspects are to you. You may think that you can’t live without a pink coffee table, but if it means living without that hideous throw rug that he’s had since college you might find that you’re happy without it.

To Your Corners
If you’re sparkles and shine, but your significant other is old leather and oak, consider making a personal space for each of you. Give yourselves an area in your home that is all about you. It makes it much easier to agree on the common areas.

You might get a little bummed out because the final results aren’t what you originally planned, but living together means making your environment enjoyable for everyone.
